Ubiquinol CoQ10 Benefits – A Vital Heart Health Nutrient

CoQ10 is a nutrient vital to the health of your muscles and particularly important to your heart. Ubiquinol is the un-oxidized form of CoQ10 that is much more readily absorbed than the oxidized form (Ubiquinone). Ubiquinol CoQ10 benefits are well documented and almost heard to believe.  Leading cardiologists and health professionals are taking a Ubiquinol CoQ10 supplement as part of their daily routine. If you are over 30, you should find out why. First a little history.

Heart disease is running rampant throughout the US and has been doing so for the last several decades. Seems ironic that heart disease is increasing at a rapid rate but haven’t we been focusing on heart healthy diets for the last 30 years or so?

The transition from whole and raw foods to more refined and processed foods is where it all started. Refined foods are about as close to simple sugar as you can get. White rice, white flour, table sugar, etc, all flood your blood stream with sugar. As anyone with diabetes knows, spiking sugar levels lead to a rush of insulin as the response from your body. Sugar and insulin are extremely harsh on arteries and are a major contributor to heart disease.

Secondly, the advent of transfat has been a disaster as well. Unless you have isolated yourself from society for the last 30 years, you’ve heard of all the dangers of transfat. Transfat is a fat that is artificially formed by hydrogenating oils so they are more usable in everyday products such as muffins, margarine, etc. Unfortunately, your body has a huge problem with transfat. To make a long story short, they contribute to heart disease is a disastrous way. Yes, I’m telling you that switching from butter to margarine was a horrible message we were getting in the 70’s and 80’s.

Fast forward to the present. Ok, so now you have a cholesterol problem. Maybe it is congenital. Maybe it is due to your diet. Either way, your doctor reaches for the sample cabinet and puts you on a statin drug (Zocor, Lipitor, etc) and gushes about the benefits of being on a statin drug.

What your Dr. doesn’t tell you is about how statins rob your body of a vital nutrient – CoQ10. It strips your body of CoQ10.

CoQ10 is an oil-soluble natural substance is found in nearly every cell in your body and particularly in your heart. It is critical in generating energy in the form of ATP. 95% of all the energy in the human body is generated this way. So, what organs have the highest energy requirement? You guessed it – your heart and your liver. CoQ10 is found concentrated in these organs.

If statin drugs strip your body of CoQ10, you can imagine what is happening to your heart. Some health professionals are blaming statin drugs for accelerating heart failure in patients with congenital heart disease. Your cholesterol level might be in check but your heart is starved of CoQ10. Many people on statin drugs report aching in their legs and in other muscles due CoQ10 being stripped from their bodies. Remember, CoQ10 is in highest concentrations in your heart so you can imagine what the lack of CoQ10 is doing to your heart.

Your body naturally produces less CoQ10 as you get older. At age 25, you have no issues with CoQ10. Anyone older than age 30 can benefit from taking CoQ10 in the readily absorbed form of Ubiquinol. Even those with no heart issues report increased energy when supplementing with Ubiquinol.

In one particularly interesting case study performed by a Texas doctor, he was able to show significant heart pumping efficiencies gained by people with advanced heart failure when taking 450mg doses of Ubiquinol daily. He calls Ubiquinol supplementation one of the most important advances in cardiac health in a long time. In his study of 19 patients, all outlived their predicted life expectancy.

I personally take Ubiquinol. If you are older than 30, or on statin drugs, or suffer any form of heart failure, I encourage you to research the benefits of Ubiquinol supplementation. Take your health in to your own hands. Talk to your doctor about it.

Ask my doctor? Are you kidding? My doctor does not recommend or agree with anything that does not come from big pharm. He is great advocate of Lipitor and insists that it has proven and that I must have it as my chosterol has gone higher.

I'm sure that the most of the doctors will wonder what I'm talking about because they do not have a time to be inform or as Don is writing - are only pushing stuff from big pharm. companies.

Most of us are left to decide ourselfs anyway.

What you said is all true. Co-Q10 most prevalent in the heart, statins decreases their levels, ubiquinol more absorbable, etc. I agree with the problems of refine carbs and trans fat.

Even though I don't have heart problems and am healthy, I still take ubiquinol. There are no side effects. And I agree with its many benefits. The only problem is that it is relatively expensive compared with other supplements.
